I never in a million years condone sexual abuse or harassment of any kind toward women, but: while we have a man (and I use that term loosely) in the White House, who has been accused of sexual assault by 9+ women (including his own wife, who said he raped her), and who denies it, and who endorses a scumbag like Roy Moore for the Senate, who’s been accused of abusing young girls and was banned from the mall, I think Al Franken has every right to remain in his Senate seat.
How can we force out a senator while our president is still president? It doesn’t matter who committed the more heinous crime; it matters that there not be one standard for the president, who is supposed to be an example of morality for the country, and another for senators. tRump has a lot of nerve – well, he’s had a lot of nerve doing everything: running for president as a serial adulterer, not stepping down from the nomination after the Access Hollywood tape, appointing self-serving know-nothings to important gov’t positions, just because they gave him lots of $, and getting us all closer to the threat of nuclear war with North Korea.
I just think things should be fair: if tRump admits he abused women and resigns, then, by all means, Al Franken should, too. No problem. But it has to be FAIR.
Just got my flu shot today, and I IMMEDIATELY felt pain from the injection site down my arm. Over the next few hours, the pain became so intense, I had to take 600 mg of ibuprofen to quell it, and thankfully, it got rid of most of the pain. Unfortunately, during that time, I also come down with a headache, congested nose and sore throat. Yes, the flu shot CAN make you sick, I don’t care what the CDC or drug companies say. The CDC has largely discredited itself during the Ebola debacle, and drug companies are out to make $$; they are not interested in whether some people – and it’s too many at this point – are actually getting sick from their vaccines.
I have been reading many people’s comments on the Internet about their experiences after having gotten the 2013 and 2014 flu shots, and it’s been rather alarming. Some do indeed seem to be allergy-related, but hey, even if the reactions are allergy-related, the medical PTB need to pay attention to this and build certain safeguards into their vaccination systems. Many people are indeed complaining they’ve been sick for months; this can’t be a coincidence, and these cases need to be looked into and studied to disclose the reason why and hopefully prevent this happening in future.
Am I missing something here? OK, understand the guy has millions, but is it worth prostituting yourself for, and putting yourself (and your children) in harm’s way for all that money? Hey, Janay: go out and either get your own job, or train to do something worthwhile so you can. A woman should NEVER be so vulnerable so as not to be able to make a living to support herself (and her children if she’s got ’em). She may think she’s Miss Rich Lady, but if she stays with this poor excuse for a human being, she’ll soon be Miss Dead Lady. And you can’t spend those millions from the grave, dear.
And what’s wrong w/our twisted society, that a turd like Ray Rice isn’t in the lockup for knocking his then fiancee unconscious? So effing what that he’s a football player! Any average guy would already be in jail – unless he had an idiot wife like Janay defending him. Geez: they both deserve to be smacked, and I’m not sure which one deserves it more!!!
When did the beautiful, graceful sport of figure skating – historically, ballet on ice – become acrobatics on ice? Commentator Scott Hamilton commented on the fact that Adelina Sotnikova, the gold medalist, used the fairly new rating system to her advantage, by excuting umpteen triple jumps successfully throughout her program. But compared to skaters like Yun Ah Kim, Julia Lipnitskaya, Carolina Kostner and Gracie Gold, she was an ungraceful cow! Under no circumstances should a medal be awarded to anyone, I don’t care how many triple jumps he or she lands, who isn’t graceful and beautiful in execution. It’s a complete travesty. Because graceless jumping machines get preference over those who want to make their skating beautiful, I don’t even like watching anymore. If I want to watch jumping and twisting in the air, I’ll watch gymnastics.
Just have to say that Martin Bashir was absolutely right about Sarah Palin: she’s a know-nothing dunce, and the Teabaggers don’t have the sense to see that by aligning themselves with her, they makes themselves look dumber than they are (if that’s possible). I agree with various opinions I’ve read online that MSNBC has really missed the mark this time. They’re supposed to be the FOX antidote, and by firing Mr. Bashir, they’ve played right into their hands. It’s disgusting. The network should have stood behind Mr. Bashir, proudly proclaiming, “He was right; and if you don’t like it, tough!” That’s what those dunces over at FOX do. I supposed TPTB over at MSNBC just didn’t want to lower themselves to FOX’s level.
I see that NY Councilwoman Margaret Chin wants to make it illegal to buy those knockoff designer handbags sold clandestinely in Chinatown. I think it’s deplorable and inexcusable that in most (or perhaps all) cases, these bags are manufactured in China in factories where workers, sometimes children, are paid as low an amount as $60. a year to make them, probably in deplorable conditions. Having said that. I think it’s discrimination by the haves of the have-nots to thusly prevent the average woman from being able to buy the closest most will ever get to a designer handbag. When designers price their handbags so at least most of us can afford them, I, too, will stop buying knockoffs. But most are so without the realm of reality pricewise, I just don’t think the designers DESERVE their missing profits!!! Why does an Hermes bag need to cost $15,000.? It’s obscene.
